Shantou New East Coastal Area

Shantou, Chima – KuiperCompagnons together with Paul Andreu has won a shared first prize in the international design competition for Shantou New East Coastal Area in China.

The return of Shantou is about the return to identity. KC has taken the existing but forgotten qualities of Shantou as a base for future development. The relationship between the inhabitants and the valuable natural environment, and the rich history and Shao-Chinese culture were of the essence.
