UMCG Facilities building
Groningen – Continuing from previously completed assignments for the UMCG, KuiperCompagnons was awarded the contract for the design of a facility complex. As a follow-up to previously completed assignments for the UMCG, KuiperCompagnons was given the contract for the design of a facility complex. The complex contains a multitude of functions for both the hospital itself, such as the pharmacy, medical faculty with lecture hall, various laboratories, radiation rooms for radiotherapy, staff functions and company restaurant, as well as functions for third parties such as Sanquin Blood Bank northeast, Dialysis Center Groningen and an Academic General Practitioner Practice.
The connection to the patio structure of the previously realized central medical complex and a separate new main entrance to the hospital terrain are the most important access routes. In the complex, a large covered patio is a crucial space from which all functions can be found logically. Underneath the building is a parking garage in 3 layers and a connection to the logistics tunnel structure of the hospital, with a new logistics center.
