The master plan of the Nansha Planning Control Area contains the development of a deep sea harbour and urban areas. In the whole design, ecological planning aspects are creatively merged with the functional layout. They reflect a high ambition of the regional economical development. Intensive relationships between urban and nature is presented through the main theme of the Overall Urban Design - “Give space to the river”.

The strategies of “Clustering and segmentation to optimized energy and material flow” as well as “Natural harbour bank” are the keys for an efficient and ecological layout of the port and its related port industries. “Gardens of the World”, the big waterside landscape park is the green oasis at the industrial and harbour area of Nansha.
