A resilient city in action

The City of the Sun integrated sustainability and resiliency ‘avant la lettre’. At completion it was the first CO2 neutral residential area in the World, where energy is generated from the sun and wind, and stored in de underground soils. Up to three days of continuous rain fall can be stored in the water system preventing floods, and the water is naturally purified up to swimming water quality.

The urban and environmental quality is highly rated by its residents by smart urban planning and attractive design. City of Sun is a pioneering project that resulted in large knowledge development of KuiperCompagnons in in the fields of proven urban sustainability and resiliency methods.
