KuiperCompagnons and Kenlog signed an MOU with Jiashan Vice Mayor Mr. Lu Chunhao

On September 27th 2017 KuiperCompagnongs was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Jiashan City representative office in Capelle aan den Ijssel. During the ceremony KuiperCompagnons and Kenlog signed an MOU with Jiashan Vice Mayor Mr. Lu Chunhao to better promote the regional economy and trade exchange between China and the Netherlands in high tech agriculture within the urban and suburban context. Depending on the request from Jiashan in the near future other members from the consortium ‘Urban Farming Partners’ can provide consulting services, training and supply high-end products based on integrated concepts.

Later during the ceremony a model of the Jiashan Sino-Dutch Industrial Cooperation Park, designed by KuiperCompagnons in 2016, were presented to the guests. Phase 1 of Jiashan Sino-Dutch Park covers an area of 85ha, including functions such as manufacturing, R&D, trading, commercial and recreation and is now under construction. KuiperCompagnons is currently commissioned to design the Research & Design Center building inside the park. Within this building the first urban farm in China will provide food for the restaurant in the park for its employees in the Sino-Dutch Industrial Park. This is in line with the Liveable Cities Program that kuiperCompagnonsdevelops whereas food, water and energy are completely integrated in the designs, based on the circular and local-to-local principle.
